We're here for your health

Westside Surgery in Boston aims to provide the highest quality primary health care to patients in the area. Our five doctors (Dr Gareth Harker, Dr Simon Lowe, Dr Adeel Asim, Dr Martyn Walling & Dr Afshan Butt), two practice nurses, two health care support workers and all our other staff are dedicated to offering a professional service.

We have plenty of free parking and all our clinical areas are fully accessible by wheelchair or mobility scooter.  There is a pharmacy next door to the surgery and a late opening one in the nearby Asda.  It is easy to register with us - just see the 'new patients' section.

We offer appointments throughout the day from 0800hrs Monday to Friday with extended opening until 2000hrs on Mondays and Tuesdays.  Any patient with a genuine medical emergency will have a consultation with a GP on the same day.

Please have a good look around this website where we hope you will find all the information you need about us.

If you need urgent medical care when we are closed, please call the Lincolnshire Out of Hours Service on 111.

Noticeboard

Order repeat medication by telephone... After listening to patient feedback, we have introduced a telephone ordering service for repeat prescriptions.  See the prescription tab above for full details.

New 'meeter & greeter'... We have been joined by Dorota Kowynia-Kaczor who will act as a 'meeter and greeter' when you arrive at the surgery.  Dorota will point you towards the most appropriate service and may ask to check some basic health details such as your height & weight and blood pressure.  Dorota can also translate for our Polish and Russian speaking patients.

Olympic torch relay... The Olympic torch relay will be passing along Sleaford Road between 1430-1515hrs approximately on Wednesday, 27 June.  Please do not attempt to get to the surgery during this time as the roads will be closed.  We will be altering appointment times slightly that day to avoid any delays.

Tell us what you think... Thank you to all patients who completed our patient survey recently. See the 'Survey Report' link on the right to read our report.

Telephone booking... following feedback from patients, we've made the automated telephone system easier to use.

Wasted appointments... in April 188 people did not keep their appointment without letting us know. That equals 34 hours of time. If you no longer need your appointment, please let us know so that we can offer it to someone else. Overall in 2011, 493 hours were lost in wasted appointments, the equivalent of 13 weeks' work for one person.

Self check-in... in April 62% of patients used the self checking-in monitor. Thank you! This enables our receptionists to spend more time on complex issues and answering the telephone. If you're not sure how to use the self check-in monitor, please ask Dorota or one of the receptionists who will be pleased to help.  The monitor will now display a message saying how many patients are still to be seen before you.

New out of hours number... if you need urgent medical care or advice when we're closed, dial 111.
