green pillsRepeat Prescriptions

Once your GP has agreed you can have a medication on repeat, our computer will print a repeat order tear-off form with your prescription.  There are four ways to order your repeat prescription:

1)  Via the internet using SystmOnline - this is our preferred method as this goes direct to your electronic patient record.  Please ask at reception for details of how to register for this service.  Once registered, you just click the link at the bottom of this page.

2)  Mark the item(s) you need and put the slip in the box in the waiting room

3)  Email (with your date of birth) to lin-pct.westsidesurgery@nhs.net

4)  Mark the item(s) you need and post the slip to us, enclosing a stamped addressed envelope.

In order to minimise the chance of making an error, we can no longer accept requests for repeat medication by telephone.

All requests will be ready to collect or sent direct to your chosen pharmacy within two working days of receipt.

We are introducing a service whereby we will issue you with 12 prescriptions, to last a whole year.  This will only be for patients whose condition is stable and whom the doctor does not need to review for 12 months.  If you are suitable for this, your doctor will discuss it with you.

We cannot give repeat medicines indefinitely without reviewing your condition.  The length of time between reviews will depend on your condition.  Therefore, we may ask you to make an appointment with the doctor or nurse before we issue another prescription.
